The Day The Juggalos Saved America
[Writing Prompt] “Grandpa, why do we celebrate July 21st?” “Because that was the day the Juggalos saved America.”
They came from far and wide, faces painted in blacks and whites, their t-shirts oversized and boots stomping American soil under American heels.
At first, we ridiculed them. They took our barbs in stride and spoke nary an ill word. Still they came, slow and steady, a journey across the broken country that spawned them.
Their’s was a fateful migration, a purposeful march from the far, forgotten places of America – empty, impoverished towns, the discarded scraps of industry, from whence was spawned a movement no one understood until it changed everything.
On the 21st day of July they arrived. Our nations capital was awash in them. Like righteous locusts they descended upon Washington, armed only with unparalleled brazeness in the face of unjust authority.
Where others only spoke, they acted. Where others pled for change, they seized it.
Into the halls of power they strode, the Juggalos and the Juggalettes, Faygo sprayed upon those hallowed walls. The “Whoop Whoops” of their harbinged approach struck fear into the hearts of the corrupt.
Into the chambers of power they walked, the rage of their boomboxs mirrored by the rage in their hearts, and for us all, every American, they acted.
The bonfire of the politicians rose 100 feet into the air. It is said to have burned for four days and four nights, and during that time not a single Juggalo slept but danced without surcease.
When, at last, the broken system of American corruption was reduced to ash, the Juggalos did not claim the throne, though it was theirs for the taking. They had no desire for power – only family and freedom.
Their work done, their nation saved, they left as swiftly as they came, dispersed to the four corners of the continent, nameless ninjalo, like seeds in the wind.
